Crystal:

In our first episode of random resolve, we're gonna be talking about our PSA coming up next.

Cathy:

Happy New Year everybody Rant and Resolve is here. I am your host Cathy and I am here with Crystal, your co host.

Crystal:

What's up?

Cathy:

You guys have been so patient with us while we worked through 2020. The probably the most chaotic year I think we've ever had in my lifetime or I've ever had. We've been working really hard with a lot of clients all year. So we had to put this a little bit on the backburner. But, boy, do we have a lot of great episodes coming up this year, don't we, Crystal?

Crystal:

Yes, I know. I'm so excited for all the topics that we're going to be covering this year.

Cathy:

How was your holiday with this whole COVID-19 chaos?

Crystal:

Well, you know, for those that don't know me, I'm from East Texas, and we have different set of rules back home. Everybody still meets up and gathers and all that stuff. So lots of COVID testing I'm sure everybody has had to do but all honesty, we had a really great holiday, very country

Cathy:

the world way way where you weren't walking around with the Purel and the hand sanitizer and the mask and you were standing out.

Crystal:

Let me tell you, that sanitizer was on my belt loop. I didn't move anywhere. Without it. There was no forgetting at all my sanitizer, and my Minnie Mouse mask, And let me tell you something, we had the best time we did a lot of things outside on lots of acreage of land. So we were all outdoors, and of course my sister just bought an RV, and she parked it on the land. We had another RV park there for the uncles and aunts to stay in evening, let them in the house. And then we had a tractor we loaded the kids in the front loader What does raise them up and down and kept them entertained while we were having some spirited beverages.

Cathy:

Well, that sounds like fun. My family, We all stayed in. We were all COVID-19 aware. In fact, my Christmas was spent with my family. All on Facebook. I swear we look like The Brady Bunch. You know, we had the funny person making funny faces. We had, you know people falling asleep. People distracted. I don't know, I think the call lasted maybe 20 minutes, which was typical. It was like a typical holiday. Our podcast is a freestyle podcast. So what happens on the podcast stays on the pod cast.

Crystal:

And we hope you stay with us. Honestly, you know, we still have all the holiday food and everything sitting around in our bellies and now we're getting back to work. But now I am really excited for Rant and Resolve it is time to get rolling. So for the first submission that we had on rant and resolve is kind of hilarious.

Cathy:

This was the very first, first email and I sent this to you and we knew this had to be an episode.

Crystal:

Yeah, I was just like, Good lord. The first one I got one for you. The rant is I called the other day and a rep transferred me to a higher department about my TCL Excel showing zero data, zero SMS and zero talk. Internet was sluggish and slow past couple of days not sure how I could have 10 megabytes only left for data when data was just added yesterday and showed minutes, etc. Just the evening when I sent a text to 611611 I sent several emails and various emails for track phone, a lady named Suzanne did try to help resolve the issue by sending me a new replacement phone. One of my emails I have is to BBC complaints and www.trackphone.com as well as the number. Okay, this is interesting. this gentleman's resolve is if someone can tell can call or email and persuade them to resolve by sending out a replacement Android for exchange for this one I have as well as resolved the data loss issues. I'm sorry sir but we are not the Better Business Bureau. I don't have the power of force within me darlings, sir, to go out and get you a track phone situation or an Android phone. I do apologize this happended to you.

Cathy:

You can't bring back his data. You can't bring back his data

Crystal:

I mean, he did leave a number. I suppose I really wanted to get extra credit, I could probably call on his behalf. But that's not what we do, darling. But I want to say great job. Suzanne, whoever you are for trying to resolve this gentleman's issue. Good job, Suzanne. We're gonna be talking about customer experience and customer service. So Suzanne, you get bonus points for trying to help this guy.

Cathy:

She sent him a replacement phone.

Crystal:

I guess he was still trying to figure out the loss of his data.

Cathy:

wasn't on the new phone?

Crystal:

Apparently not. He's got some data things going on. Message things? I don't know. I mean, I guess my resolve would be like, why are you using a track phone?

Cathy:

Not an apple or a Samsung 2050? Plus?

Crystal:

I mean, I don't even know if I'm familiar with Trac phones. Are you Cathy?

Cathy:

No I'm not. I mean, I know that there are Track phones. No, I'm not a Track phone expert.

Crystal:

What is your take on this?

Cathy:

So I'm gonna say a PSA is a public service announcement.

Crystal:

There's a tip of the tip for the week, folks. PSA.

Cathy:

So the public service announcement for Rant and Resolve is that we are not here to be your Better Business Bureau customer service support people. I can't imagine trying to call on behalf of you. On every single problem that everybody has. A lot of these things now, you know, these guys ask you questions like, you know, when you call like, okay, here's a great example, Crystal, tell me if you agree with this one. So when you call, you're going to go pay your electric bill and you call and they're verifying it's you. Well, why are you verifying It's me, if I'm offering to give you money? I'm offering to pay my bill. And you still want to know it's me.

Crystal:

I mean, if you want to call me and pay for my bills, I won't ask any questions.

Cathy:

Anyway, so really rant and resolve, we want to let everybody know that our whole goal here is that, you know, we do a lot of work with small business owners. And I think that there's kind of a lack of knowledge on how things work. Why can't we all get along, in the last year, really, the last couple of years, I've noticed, you know, in social groups in, you know, gosh, just in feeds, you know, people are ranting about things. And then other people are jumping in and there's just no real resolve. They're just arguing and not getting to the point. nobody's really giving any, you know, specificity, specificity. You know what, there goes my dictionary right there, but you're not giving a solution. And so what we wanted to do is, the rants are real, you know, the complaints are real, whether you're a consumer, or you're a small business owner, you need to be heard, you know, as a consumer, we want to be heard, we want to have the best customer service. And I'm a buyer just like you, Crystal, but I'm also a small business owner that says, you know, what is this? Is this rant real? Should I change this in my business? Should I make it better? Maybe I'm not putting out enough content to help people understand why we're doing something a certain way. And so we wanted to create Rant and Resolve as a way to, yes, absolutely, we're going to have so much fun with this, we already are. But at the same time, the idea is to come up with a resolve, we're not doing customer service issues like this, one of the things that we really don't do, and we want to make sure that everybody understands this, you know, you just go to rant and resolve. And then you click the Submit your rant button, we're going to ask you what we think your resolve is because we love it. We want to hear your take on it. And I think the business owners do too. And then just from there, it's kind of like, is this a good idea? Should we change this? Should we make it better? The idea is always making it better creating that ultimate buying and selling experience both for us as consumers and then us as business owners. One we're not a better business bureau, but we really don't want to throw anybody under the bus, right crystal, We're not going to call you

Crystal:

Totally not

Cathy Thomas:

we're not gonna call out. We don't want somebody to go out of business because of something we said what we want to do. And our goal here is to not put them out of business, but make sure they do the right things to stay in business. I mean, that's our number one goal. We want your business to thrive if you're a small business owner, and as a consumer, I think reviews aren't going to fix all the problems but they're helpful. So there's a lot of pros and cons to ranting and resolving, But the key factor here is that we just don't want to throw anybody under the bus. Let's all get along. Love one another

Crystal:

That's me, I like it when we're all happy, we all get along

Cathy:

So just to let you guys know, when you submit a rant or you're part of ours are in the group, everybody has something important to say. And sometimes it's just about learning, you know, learning why it's done that way. And that gives you better understanding. You know, I think that's a big thing. So rant and resolve in no way shape or form will allow races, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, derogatory, nothing crazy on rants, we're not super political, but I might get a little political at some points, but crystal will throw me into place,

Crystal:

Yep, I'll get my lassp out and reel you back in.

Cathy:

The platform and no way is going to slander any specific business. That's not the goal. Our platform is really to create a voice for everyone. Any, any questions on our platform, or inside the groups opinions, comments, outside of the group, we just, we just want to make sure that we're all kind of on the same page. So we want to allow all voices to be heard. So we just want to make sure that you kind of following those guidelines when you submit your rant? If it doesn't, we're probably not going to talk about it. Right, Crystal? I mean, we're just not

Crystal:

Yeah, I mean, the goal here is, this is a platform to have a little fun, because we all have rants in our lives for various different businesses, service that you want, whether it's dining out, which we used to be able to do, or whether we at the convenience store, grocery store, driving down the road, I can't wait till we talk about road rage. That's going to be a fun topic, Cathy, I think will be a great example of that. But we'll get to that in a minute

Cathy:

I know I talked to everybody when I drive. But really the bottom line is guys, we look forward to helping educate the minds of our consumers and our business owner, using our platform to help businesses be better and do better for the for the customers, right? That's our goal. And then hopefully, that the customers learn and understand keep going to your favorite people, we're in an economy right now that we need to support our small business owners, everybody that's in business, but of course, we're gonna do a lot to support small business owner. So one little thing that goes wrong with a small business owner can really put them out of business. So our goal is really to just help. And that's really, that's really it crystal. I mean, like that's, that's what I got to see you have anything else you want to add?

Crystal:

I think you pretty much nailed it, you know, bottom line Rant and Resolve is we want to see your rants and what you consider thr resolution to be based on that rant. It's really about creating a great experience between business owners and consumers, their consumers, your consumers. And then we kind of add in our opinion on that. And we just hope you guys stick with us, check us out, submit some of your rants over with your resolutions. We can't wait to talk about some of the things that you'd like to hear us talk about.

Cathy:

Yeah, and, if you don't have a resolution, just tell us your rant, we'll figure it out. We'll call a friend. We know the industry.

Crystal:

We'll call a friend.

Cathy:

But really guys, I want to say Also be sure to check out the insider secrets interviews, we'll be interviewing small business owners, sales professionals, people in certain industries that really have a lot of insight. I know a lot of people in 2021 are looking for new jobs, new careers, maybe you're even that person that's kind of thinking I want to start a business. So we have a lot of episodes in between our weekly episode that will interview different business owners or different occupational professionals that will share a lot about their experience in that profession. And we hope that you're one of those people trying to figure out what you want to do next. If you are one of those people who have been affected with the COVID-19 maybe lost your job. We're hoping that we can provide some great insight, just getting to know these other business owners and industry professionals on the show inside of insider secrets. So our first two, when you get to this episode, you'll probably see one about crystal. So, check that out so you can get to know Crystal a little bit better. And then of course, we'll have one about me. I think I'll just interview myself. It'll be fun to have you kind of interview me. So I want to thank everybody for definitely sticking with us while we've worked on launching this in 2020. Right, Crystal?

Crystal:

Right! I am so happy that 2020 is in the rearview. We're moving forward with 2021 and we have been in the making of Rant and Resolve for so long. So it's just so nice to be actually in the studio with you, Cathy, and being able to start talking about the things and the content that we have really been building over time.

Cathy:

Yep, super. So I want to say thank you, everybody for joining us on our first episode, where we're helping bring both consumers and business owners together to help create the ultimate buying and selling experience. My name is Kathy, you've been listening to Crystal, our co host. Join us next week because we're going to be talking about the wedding industry.

Crystal:
